How we work.

We love clarity – in stories, campaigns, designs, and in the way we work.
Our focus is on fact-based storytelling: campaigns and projects that convey knowledge and make people smarter.

Our Story
Sapera Studios has been around longer than you might think at first glance: the agency was founded in 2013 under a different name and with a different focus, but even then with a real love for good design. In 2021, Katrin Kolossa took the helm, relaunched Sapera Studios, and gave the agency a home that is both independent and principled.

Since then, we've worked with around 20 colleagues for clients who share one thing in common: they champion meaningful projects and share our values – from ministries and research institutions to corporations and start-ups.

How We Work
We start with the real, difficult, and exciting questions, then move into sparring from there – with each other, with AI, with our clients, and with agency partners. Every week, we deliberately set aside time for two things: a shared Solution Session, where we keep developing our own organization, and a fixed block of time for inspiration and professional development across the whole creative team.

The result is a way of working that is confident, self-directed, remote yet collaborative, flexible, warm, ambitious, and genuinely enjoys doing good work.

Who's in-house
Around 20 people work here, covering most disciplines under one roof: strategy, copy, design, motion, and development all sit at the same table — supplemented by partners where specialist expertise is needed.

Katrin Kolossa — Founder & Managing Director
Katrin Kolossa embodies what Sapera Studios stands for: an approach where creativity and substance go hand in hand. After studying journalism, she worked at Spiegel, CNN, and Deutsche Welle before moving into communications for German government ministries, and later taking on leadership roles at corporations, start-ups, and agencies. In 2021, she relaunched Sapera Studios.

In 2026, trade magazine Horizont named Katrin one of its "40 under 40", and Handelsblatt recognized her as a Marketing Leader. She serves on the jury of the Max Award and the German Digital Award, moderates political events and panels on artificial intelligence – including for Germany's Green Party, at dmexco, and at the BAM Festival. She regularly writes about fact-based storytelling for industry publications.
